YWL Cultural Activities

 

Each Young World Leaders program features activities specially designed for students from around the world to gain valuable intercultural experience practicing English in an immersive setting and developing lifelong social and developmental skills. Daily and weekly cultural activities, along with cultural trips to places like New York City and Washington D.C., play important roles in the development of leadership skills and cultural understanding in each Young World Leaders program.

 



 

Weekly Cultural Activities

 

Weekly cultural activities allow international students from diverse backgrounds to practice and develop English-language skills while also strengthening intercultural understanding. Students participate in weekly activities together as a group, reinforcing shared and cross cultural understanding while developing bonds of friendship and stewardship.

Activities may include:

  • Karaoke
  • Fashion Show
  • Talent Show
  • Basketball Tournament
  • Rock Climbing
  • Acting
  • Musical Performances

Daily Cultural Activities

 

Students in Young World Leaders programs may participate in a wide variety of daily sports and activities designed to foster cultural understanding of sports and athletics in the US abroad, as well as in US colleges and universities. Each activity or workshop features an activity rooted in American culture. Our knowledgable activities staff teach and lead each daily activity, engaging students with their first-hand knowledge and experience in the subject.
